Welcome to the website of the Jefferson County Christian Homeschool (JCCH) Co-op. The JCCH Co-op was designed so that Christian homeschooling families from the Jefferson County area can pool their talents and resources as we seek to educate our children at home.
If you are interested in the co-op, there are a few things you need to know before you get involved. The first and most important is that we must work together to make the co-op successful. We need every person to do his/her part. Each family must have one parent present at the facility during the time their children are involved. Children cannot be involved without a parent. Every family will be asked to teach and/or assist in proportion to the involvement of your children. If you have a special situation that you would like to discuss, please contact Denise Beaty.
The second thing you must know is that everyone who teaches at the co-op is doing so voluntarily; (s)he is not getting paid. Teachers have agreed to charge only what it will cost them to teach a class. In other words, they charge for books, workbooks, copies, and supplies. Co-op is not a business with overhead; everything we collect is paid out to teachers, used to buy administrative and cleaning supplies, or to pay for the facility. Once you have signed up for a class and we have paid the teacher, we cannot give refunds.
Lastly, although your children take classes at the co-op and are assigned homework in class, their education is still your responsibility. You must ensure that your children are completing the assignments. You are responsible for their discipline. You are responsible for their conduct. It is your job to discuss the rules with your family. If your child is disciplined in class or the hallway for their behavior, it is your job to discuss the problem with them and discipline them accordingly.
With all that said, we hope you will be able to join us for a year of learning and having fun together all to the benefit of our children. You will find the link to the registration package on the right.
